Sderot
The Sderot Medical Rehabilitation Center is located in the south of Israel, near its' border with the Gaza Strip. The center was designed to provide medical guidance and rehabilitation to the population of the Negev region and in particular of the Gaza perimeter. The Israeli Institute of Medical Assistance, Ezra Lamrp, is a non-profit organization which main activity is to give free medical treatment. The building will house a therapeutic pool, an occupational therapy unit, a physiotherapy unit, a diagnostic unit and a consulting unit.
Due to the unstable security state in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing Qassam rocket attacks, the goal was to design a safe building which will allow ongoing activity even when it is being bombed. The challenge was to design a bomb proof building which meets strict security requirements but at the same time creates a pleasant and convenient therapeutic environment by allowing the penetration of natural light, colors of vegetation and the sky, thus opposing the stress and claustrophobia that characterize the daily routine of running for shelter when being bombed.
The result is a building with a secret. At first sight, the exterior of the building appears as one sealed unit, but when one enters its' interior, a network of internal courtyards, gateways and various halls are discovered, washed in the desert light thanks uniquely designed openings and a variety of old trees which grew on site for many years, that blend in with the building as one organic system.
Sderot 재활 센터는 이스라엘 남부 가자 지구 경계선 근처에 자리잡고 있다. 센터는 Negev 지역의 사람들, 특히 가자 외곽 지역에 살고 있는 사람들에게 의료 혜택을 제공하기 위해 설계되었다. 이스라엘 의료 지원 기관인 Ezra Lamrp는 비영리 단체로 무료 의료 활동을 주로 하고 있다. 건물 내에는 치료용 수영장, 작업 요법실, 물리치료실, 진료실, 상담실이 있다.
가자 지구의 불안정한 안전 상황과 계속되는 Qassam의 로켓 공격으로 인해 건물 설계의 목표는 폭탄이 터지더라도 안전하고 튼튼한 건물을 짓는 것이다. 설계상 어려웠던 점은 엄격한 안전 기준을 충족시키고 폭탄으로부터 안전한 건물을 디자인하는 동시에 자연광이 유입되고 식물과 하늘이 있는 즐겁고 편리한 치료환경을 조성하는 것이다. 이는 매일 폭탄의 위협으로 부터 받는 밀실 공포증이나 스트레스에 반대되는 것이다.
완성 이후 건물의 모습은 비밀이 있어 보인다. 건물 외관의 첫인상은 마치 한 개의 덩어리로 마무리된 건물같아 보인다. 그러나 그 속으로 들어가 보면 실내정원들과 입구들 그리고 다양한 홀의 네트워크를 발견할 수 있다. 독특하게 설계된 개구부로 들어오는 사막의 햇빛과 수 년동안 이 곳에서 자라왔던 다양한 고목들이 건물과 뒤섞여 마치 하나의 유기체를 형성한다.

실내 정원 중 하나, 자연광이 유입되는 독특한 개구부와 화려한 패턴의 세라믹 자기타일이 특징적이다.
Side look at the building shows an old tree that hasn't been removed, but affected the building plan and was re-shaped specially to fit it.
건물 측면에는 제거되지 않은 오래된 나무가 있다. 이 나무로 인해 건물 평면이 바뀌었고 특별히 나무가 건물의 한 요소가 될 수 있도록 하였다.
The therapeutic pool were designed with special embedded concrete tiles, to create a pleasant atmosphere.
치료용 수영장은 특별히 내장된 콘크리트 타일과 함께 설계되어 즐거운 분위기를 연출한다.
The entrance hall were designed to be safe and bomb proof but inviting, with glass coverings and painted floor.
입구의 홀은 폭탄에 안전하게 설계되었지만 유리 외피와 페인트칠된 바닥과 함께 매력적이다.
External balconies and internal gardens covered with arced walls, to let the natural light come in and to create a more fluent experience when one walks in the building.
외부 발코니와 실내 정원은 호 형태의 벽으로 덮여 있어 자연광이 유입되고 건물내를 걸을 때 보다 유창한 경험을 느낄 수 있도록 하였다.
The Doctors Reception Office Were designed with a large window, covered with bomb proof glass and special construction to prevent bombing blast.
의사 리셉션 오피스는 큰 창과 함께 설계되었으며 창은 폭탄에 안전하고 폭탄을 막을 수 있는 특별한 시공법을 적용하였다.
On one side the building look as one solid unit, but from the other, it reveals balconies, arcs and shaped openings.
한 쪽에서 건물을 바라보면 하나의 덩어리 같지만 다른 쪽에서 바라보면 발코니와 아치, 그리고 개구부들이 드러난다.
Two impressive mature Ficus Microcarpa trees were preserved on site, creating the impression that the building exist for a long time.
성숙하고 인상적인 Ficus Microcarpa 나무 두 그루는 프로젝트 대지 위에 보존되어 건물이 이 곳에서 오랫동안 존재하고 있었다는 인상을 남긴다.
