The new football stadium of Miskolc, largest town in Northern Hungary, has been a state funded project. At the beginning of the design period, six different concept designs were presented to the Client, the Sports Club, the Municipality and the Fan Club. Based on these designs, the Client decided to have the existing stadium, built in 1939, totally demolished. The further designs of the new stadium were based on the approved version of the concept design.
The chalice-shaped mass of the stadium opens up towards its surroundings and attracts the approaching spectators with glimpses of the green grass visible through slits. The double mass of the grandstand, supported by slender reinforced concrete pylons, and the pronouncedly overhanging butterfly roof give a graceful, floating impression despite their size, owing to the strips of shadow between them. The expanded aluminum plate facing, used everywhere, create simple, geometrical forms of the reinforced concrete and steel structural elements. There is a large square in front of the new stadium for 14,680 spectators, divided by stairs and ramps.
Entry points are located at the four corners of the building. There are rows of toilets and cafeterias under the grandstand. The service building of 7,360m² area built around the stadium is divided into three parts according to function. On the northern side, facing the town is a brasserie open every day and a gift shop. The western side accomodates the changing rooms, event halls, offices and VIP rooms. There are building management rooms and areas for the guest fans on the southern side. In Miskolc-Diósgyör, being a football fan is part of the local identity, so the new stadium has been built in a good place.
디오스교리 축구경기장 헝가리 북쪽의 가장 큰 도시인 미슈콜츠의 새로운 디오스교리 축구경기장은 국영 자금지원 프로젝트로 진행됐다. 디자인 초창기에 여섯 개의 콘셉트 디자인이 건축주, 구단, 지자체와 응원단에게 제시됐다. 이 디자인들을 토대로 건축주는 1939년에 지어진 기존의 경기장을 완전히 철거하기로 결정했다. 새로운 경기장의 후속 디자인은 콘셉트 디자인 중에서 승인된 안을 토대로 나왔다.
성배 모양의 경기장 매스는 경기장의 주위를 향해 개방되어 있고, 틈 사이로 초록 풀들을 힐끗 보이게 하여 경기장으로 접근하는 관중들을 매료한다. 가느다란 강화 콘크리트 철탑과 돌출된 나비 모양 지붕이 지지하고 있는 그랜드 스탠드의 이중 매스는 지붕에 의한 줄무늬 모양의 그림자에 의해 규모와 상관 없이 우아하고, 떠 있는 듯한 인상을 준다. 모든 곳을 향해 있고, 모든 곳에 사용되는 확장된 알루미늄 판은 강화 콘크리트와 철재 구조 요소의 간결하고, 기하학적인 형태를 만들어낸다. 약 15,000명의 관중을 위한 새로운 경기장 앞에는 계단과 램프로 구분된 거대한 광장이 있다.
입구들은 건물의 네 개의 모서리에 있다. 그랜드 스탠드 아래에는 여러 열의 화장실과 카페테리아가 있다. 7,360㎡의 서비스 빌딩은 경기장 주위에 지어졌으며, 기능에 따라 세 개의 부분으로 구분된다. 도시를 마주하는 북측 면에는 매일 여는 식당과 선물 가게가 있다. 서측 면은 탈의실, 이벤트 홀, 사무실과 VIP실을 수용한다. 남측 면에는 건물 관리실들과 원정팀의 팬들을 위한 영역들이 있다.
