Ryokan K Renovation

Located on a 36,670-square-meter site, the ryokan offers 14 Japanese-style detachable suites and six Western-style rooms. The project aimed to renovate the ryokan overall and was planned to be completed within 10 years, starting in 2015, but was extended by one year due to the Kumamoto & Oita earthquake in 2016. The structure of the suite had to be rebuilt extensively due to the earthquake. The suite is a building with a roof finished with silver grass and cedar bark, and was originally a Japanese-style room, but it has been improved to a room that combines Japanese and Western styles. The bathroom has been extensively renovated in Japanese style. Each room can accommodate 6 to 7 people, especially rooms with hot springs can accommodate more people. Also, after all the waterproofing, all the finishes were replaced or reinforced to completely renovate the villa as if it were new.

36,670㎡ 규모의 대지에 있는 이 료칸은 14개의 일본식 분리형 스위트 룸과 6개의 서양식 객실을 제공한다. 본 프로젝트는 료칸을 전반적으로 개조하는 것을 목표로 했으며, 2015년에 시작하여 10년 안에 준공할 계획이었지만, 2016년에 발생한 쿠마모토 & 오이타 지진으로 인해 1년이 연장됐다. 지진의 영향으로 스위트 룸의 구조는 대대적으로 재건설되어야 했다. 스위트 룸은 억새와 삼나무 껍질로 지붕이 마감된 건물로, 원래 일본식 객실이었으나, 일본식과 서양식이 결합된 객실로 향상됐다. 욕실은 일본식으로 넓게 개조되었다. 한 객실 당 6~7명이 수용 가능하며, 특히 온천이 있는 객실은 더 많은 인원이 수용 가능하다. 또한 모든 방수 처리 후, 빌라를 마치 새것처럼 완전히 개조하기 위해 모든 마감재들은 대체되거나 보강됐다.
