Jongno-Gu My Village’s Playground

종로 우리동네 놀이터는 모든 사람을 위한 놀이터가 될 수 있도록 현상공모 준비단계에서부터 놀이터가 위치할 장소에 대한 장단점 분석을 진행하며 현실적인 통합 놀이터의 해결방법을 제안했다. 건축가는 원서, 창인, 숭인 놀이터의 인근 어린이와 주민들, 교육관계자와 긴밀하게 소통하며 자연지형을 존중한 창의적이고 실험적인 계획안을 계획했다.

 

원서공원 놀이터는 대상지 내 회화나무 보호수를 종로구의 오랜 역사를 상징하는 중심공간으로 조성하고, 회화나무 뿌리내림을 디자인 모티브로 설정하면서 랜드아트(Land Art) 디자인을 제안했다. 랜드아트 디자인은 기존 주차장 상부의 얕은 토심에서 자라던 나무들을 전혀 제거하지 않으면서도 설계 컨셉, 놀이공간 간의 거리두기 및 공간확보 그리고 무단차 놀이공간까지 실현할 수 있다.

 

창이공원 놀이터는 인근 어린이집의 유아와 어린이, 지역의 청소년이 함께 이용할 수 있는 다양한 유형의 그네와 기존 경사면을 활용한 대규모와 소규모 미끄럼틀을 도입하여 아이들의 모험심과 놀이에 대한 흥미를 유도했다. 또한 경사면 상부에는 주민들의 휴게공간이자 체력단련 시설을 공간을 분리하여 계획했다.

 

숭인공원 놀이터는 옛 채석장의 상부에 위치한다. 주민들의 의견을 수렴하여 다양한 운동기구를 배치하고, 세대친화형 통합놀이터를 구현하고자 서울의 전경을 바라볼 수 있는 경계 주변으로 어르신들을 위한 스카이 헬스장을 조성했다. 또한 기존의 놀이대 중심으로 구성되어 있던 협소한 놀이공간을 진입로 초입에서부터 시작할 수 있도록 확장하여 아이들의 다양한 놀이활동도 유도한다. 공원 내에 열린 도서관과 공원을 찾아오는 시민들은 남산과 경관을 조망할 수 있는 전망데크를 사용하며 지역의 명소가 될 수 있는 요소를 포함하고 있다.

To ensure that Jongno-Gu My Village’s Playground would be a playground for everyone, the architects analyzed the pros and cons of the location of the playground from the conceptualization stage and proposed a solution for a realistic integrated playground. The architects closely communicated with the children, residents, and education officials of Wonseo, Changi, and Sungin playgrounds to come up with a creative and experimental plan that respects the natural terrain.

 

For Wonseo Park playground, the architects created a central space around a protected locust tree that symbolizes the long history of Jongno-gu, and proposed a land art design, setting the roots of the tree as the design motif. Through land art design the design concept, distancing and securing space between play areas, and stepless play areas can be realized without removing the trees growing in the shallow soil at the top of the existing parking lot.

 

Changi Park Playground introduces various types of swings that toddlers and children from nearby daycare centers and local teenagers can use together, as well as large- and small-scale slides that utilize existing slopes to encourage children’s sense of adventure and interest in play. In addition, the upper part of the slope was designed to be a separate space for residents to relax and exercise.

 

Sungin Park Playground is located on the upper part of a former quarry. In order to realize an integrated and generation-friendly playground, a sky gym for seniors was built around the border with a panoramic view of Seoul, and various exercise equipment was placed after gathering opinions from residents. In addition, the narrow play area, which was previously composed of playground equipment, was expanded to start at the entrance of the access road, encouraging various play activities for children. It includes elements that can become a local attraction, with an open library within the park and an observation deck overlooking Namsan Mountain and the landscape.
