"a house on a narrow plot with space"

It is a rebuilding project for a residential area lined with houses from ancient times. The project is in a 104.81㎡ (31 tsubo) low-rise area, and on a narrow piece of land with setback restrictions and limitations set forth under the Landscape Act.

For this reason, the surrounding houses are built to fill up the land, creating the cramped housing unique to Kyoto, and this makes it difficult to create areas with gardens and green spaces that give a sense of nature. Under such circumstances, we wondered whether we might be able to develop houses with a sense of space, while ensuring the number of rooms required. Therefore, on this occasion, we made a point of creating a space on a narrow plot. We set three boxes of different volumes on the plot and set each one at an angle.

On the plot, we started creating the spaces produced by the angles. We greened the spaces so as to make it possible to get a sense of the outdoors from any room. Rather than taking a building as being one large volume, by bringing together several small volumes, and connecting small spaces together, it is possible to have green areas dotted around the site, incorporate the exterior area into the building and create rich space even with minimal space. In addition, by making use of corner lots and leaving them open without fenced off, you can no doubt further enhance the feeling of lush greenery.

야마시나 하우스

"좁은 공간의 대지에 있는 집"

이것은 고대로부터 주택이 늘어서 있는 주거 지역을 재건축하는 프로젝트이다. 이 프로젝트는 104.81m2(31tsubo)의 저층 지역에 위치해 있으며, 조경법에 규정된 제한사항과 조치사항이 있는 좁은 대지에 있다. 이러한 이유로 주변 집들은 땅을 메우기 위해 지어졌고 교토(Kyoto) 고유의 비좁은 주택을 만들었다. 그리고 이것은 자연감을 주는 정원과 같은 녹색 공간을 만드는 것을 어렵게 한다.

이러한 상황에서 우리는 필요한 공간의 수를 확보하면서 공간감을 갖춘 주택을 설계 할 수 있을지 궁금했다. 그래서 이 기회에, 우리는 좁은 대지에 공간을 만드는 것을 목표로 삼았다. 대지에 세 개의 서로 다른 부피의 상자를 놓고, 각 상자마다 각도를 설정한다. 이를 통해 대지에서 우리는 각도에 의해 만들어진 공간을 창조해 내기 시작했다.

우리는 모든 방에서 야외를 느낄 수 있도록 하기 위해 공간을 녹화했다. 건물을 하나의 큰 볼륨으로 가져가는 대신 여러 개의 작은 볼륨을 결합하고, 그 작은 공간을 서로 연결하면서 대지 주위에 녹지 영역을 배치했다. 그러면서 외부 영역을 건물에 통합하고 최소한의 공간으로 풍부한 공간을 만들 수 있었다. 또한 모퉁이 대지에 울타리를 치지 않고 열어놓음으로써, 무성한 녹지감을 한층 더 강하게 느낄 수 있도록 설계했다.
