Iksan T House is a ‘T’ shaped house in front and back elevation. The house is constructed in light weight wood structures in ‘T’ shaped façade with floating upper mass. Constructing this type of structure with light weight wood structure was possible with 30cm diameter glulam. They were able to construct floating upper mass with large exterior space on the ground level through glulam with higher vertical strength compare to concrete. Two stories of interior space is divided into public space on the 1st floor and private space on 2nd floor and the user can feel the large space on the first floor. When they open the door, they can experience expanded space directly connected to the exterior.

Most of the layout of spaces reflected children and parents' desires. By laying out the 1st floor parallel to the adjacent park which allows the flow of the park continues through the house, the users can experience the park as if it is their front yard and children can romp around freely. The 1.5th floor, constructed in Skip Floor structure, is a space where 1st and 2nd floor overlaps and this space is designed for children’s play area to allow parents to watch children from public space on the 1st floor and also anywhere on the 2nd floor.

Children’s room, bathroom, master bedroom, and workroom is located on the 2nd floor. Work room is stretched toward the park and allow the parents to see the children playing outside while they are working. The parents’ desire of considering children’s play area as the most important element of the house is directly reflected to the house and as a result, all of the house layout is designed with the children as a core element and thus created interesting interior and exterior spaces.

익산 T 하우스는 정면이나 후면에서 보면 T자 형태의 집이다. 경량 목구조로 지어진 집을 T자형태의 입면으로 만들어, 상부 매스가 띄워진 형태이다. 경량 목구조로 이러한 형태를 가능한게 한건 직경 30㎝ 글루램으로 해결했다. 수직 강도가 콘크리트를 능가하는 글루램을 통해 상부의 매스를 띄우고 하부에 넓은 외부 공간을 가질 수 있게 되었다. 2층규모의 내부 공간은 1층은 공용공간과 2층의 개인공간으로 분리를 시켜 1층에서는 넓은 공간감과 문을 열면 바로 외부와 연결되어 더욱 확장된 공간을 느낄 수 있다.

공간 배치는 아이들과 부모들의 마음을 최대한 반영되었다. 1층은 인접한 공원과 평행하게 배치시켜 공원의 흐름이 집으로 이어져, 공원이 집의 앞마당과 같이 느껴지고, 아이들이 자유롭게 뛰어 놀 수 있게 하였다. 스킵플로어로 구성된 1.5층 공간은 1층과 2층이 겹쳐지는 공간으로 아이들 놀이공간을 배치시켜 공용공간인 1층과 2층 어디서든 아이들을 볼 수 있는 위치에 배치하였다.

2층은 아이방, 화장실, 안방과 작업실을 배치 하였으며, 작업실은 공원방향으로 뻗어 있어, 작업을 하면서도 아이들이 노는 모습을 볼 수 있게 하였다. 아이들의 놀이 공간이 절대적으로 중요했던 부모님의 마음은 집에 그대로 반영되어서, 아이들을 중심에 두고 집을 집의 모든 배치가 결정 되고, 재미있는 모습의 내외부의 공간이 형성 되었다.
