Showri Shuri house

Parents of two kids whose nicknames are Showri and Shuri came to ask for building a house for their kids. (A unique thing was that the family was staying in the house, ‘YENE house’, which the [Designband YOAP] designed a year ago.) Their plan was living in a small house and utilizing an opportunity cost of the rent deposit and the land cost to build the house for their kids. The clients wanted a small, but interesting house for their kids. And they started designing with the thought that main characters were their kids in the perspective of a wide attic, terras, natural light, privacy and others.

At the southeast side of the site a road and natural light are open, and a building and a hill are blocking at the southwest and the northwest side, respectively. The first priority of the house for kids was the natural light. Therefore, the layout of the floor plan was determined according to the shadow analyzing based on the sunlight. The first floor lies on the site diagonally having a garden at the southeast side where the natural light comes into the area. By arranging a storage at the roadside, the garden near the road and the front garden near the west living room are separated.

On the second floor, there are a master bedroom and a room for two kids. A laundry room was arranged at the second floor in order to handle laundries of kids easily, and a wide terrace offers a space for dehydrating laundries. And, at the sharing desk in a large living room in the second floor family can read books and do computer works together. In addition, the fact that there is a secret path under the terrace of the older kid’s room is still a secret for the older kid. There is an access path to the play attic between rooms for kids. The sunlight from the skylight of the ceiling illuminates the living room in the second floor to the staircase connecting to the first floor.

Through the window at the floor of the attic, the first floor garden is seen. This part blocks the sunlight in summer and blocks the rains at the path to the The space of the piloti in the first floor was planned as a parking lot, but the father installed a swing for their kids as a gift. A year later, the space turned into a space where local children can play together in case of raining. This space is transformed into a parking lot in the evening and a shelter in a day.

쇼리 슈리 하우스

쇼리와 슈리라는 애칭을 가진 두 아이의 부모가 찾아와 아이들을 위한 집을 지어 달라고 했다. (특이했던 점은‘디자인밴드요앞’에서 1년 전 설계한‘YENE house’에 이미 거주중인 가족이었다.) 집을 짓기 위해 작은집에 거주하며 전세금과 토지구입의 기회비용을 활용해 아이들을 위한 집을 짓겠다는 계획이었다. 건축주는 아이들을 위한 작지만 재미있는 집을 원했고, 넓은 다락과 테라스 그리고 채광과 프라이버시 모든 면에서 두 아이들을 주인공으로 생각하며 계획하기 시작했다. 대지의 동남쪽으로 도로와 채광이 열려 있고 남서쪽으로는 건물이, 북서쪽으로는 언덕이 가로막고 있다.

아이들을 위한 집은 채광이 잘되어야 한다는 것을 최우선 고려사항으로 하고 대지의 일조에 따른 그림자 분석을 통한 배치계획을 했다. 그러다 보니 1층은 대지를 사선방향으로 자리잡아 채광이 잘되는 남동쪽으로 마당을 두게 되었다. 도로 쪽으로는 창고를 배치하여 그 앞 도로 쪽 마당과 서쪽 거실 앞 마당을 분리하였다. 사선으로 배치된 1층 거실은 채광을 얻음과 동시에 마당에서 놀고 있는 아이들을 편안히 볼 수 있게 하는 요소이기도 하다. 거실 뒤편의 부엌과 다용도실의 보조주방, 화장실과 샤워실은 일렬로 배치하여 설비공간을 단순화 하였다. 2층에는 안방과 두 아이의 방이 있다. 아이들의 세탁물을 쉽게 처리할 수 있도록 2층에 세탁실을 두고 넓은 테라스도 확보하여 빨래를 건조할 수 있게 하였다.

그리고 2층에도 가족실 개념의 거실을 두어 공용 책상에서 같이 책을 읽기도 하고 컴퓨터 작업도 할 수 있다. 큰 아이 방 테라스에 바닥 비밀통로가 있다는 건 큰 아이에게도 아직 비밀이다. 아이들 방 사이로 다락 놀이방으로 올라간다. 지붕의 천창을 통해 들어오는 빛이 2층의 거실에서부터 1층으로 내려가는 계단까지 환하게 비춘다. 다락 바닥의 창을 통해서는 1층 마당을 조망할 수 있다. 이 부분은 1층 마당에서는 여름에는 차양 역할을 하고, 현관까지 걸어 들어오는 길에 비를 막아 주기도 한다. 1층의 필로티 공간은 주차장으로 계획되었지만 나중에 아이들 아빠가 나란히 그네를 달아 선물해 주었다. 1년 뒤 그 곳은 비가 와도 동네아이들과 함께 놀 수 있는 공간으로 바뀌었다. 저녁에는 주차 공간으로, 낮에는 아이들의 쉼터로 역할이 바뀌는 공간이다.
