The topography alludes to the personality of the location. "57steps" was created in hopes of it being used as a welcoming and resting place for the visitors of the children's museum by providing embedded sculptures that match the location as if it were a part of the terrain.

At the slope entering the museum, four terraced hills that can be ascended and descended as well as a pot garden are created with the 57 concrete waterway pipes. They will become places of harmony as they provide adults with a place to sit and feel the simple nature through the container garden at the same time, and become an exploration space to go up and down as well as an experiencing space to encounter plants for children. We hope to see the tiered hills, which create a small yard as they are huddled together, being used for small gatherings and events, and see everyone enjoying their chats and playing on each of the hills.

지형은 장소의 성격을 암시한다. 지형의 한 부분처럼 장소에 맞춘 조형물(embedded sculpture)을 제공함으로써, 어린이 박물관의 방문객에게 환영과 휴식의 장소로서 활용되기를 바라며 ‘57steps’를 제작하였다.

박물관으로 진입하는 경사로에 57개의 콘크리트 수로관으로 오르내릴 수 있는 4개의 계단형태 언덕과 포트가든(pot garden)을 조성한다. 어른들에게는 앉을 수 있는 장소를 제공하는 동시에, 컨테이너 정원을 통해 소박한 자연을 느낄 수 있고, 어린이들에게는 오르내릴 수 있는 탐험공간과 식물을 접할 수 있는 체험공간으로서 함께 어울리는 공간이 될 것이다. 계단형태의 언덕은 옹기종기 모여 작은 마당을 만든다. 이곳에서는 작은 모임이나 이벤트가 일어난다. 각각의 언덕에서 모두가 담소와 놀이를 즐기는 모습을 기대해본다.
