A Museum of Art with a walkway side water space.

The Museum of Art is conveniently located at making it easy to reach core areas of Hefei. As the project is in the area with an increasing level of urbanization, the designer aims to create a conversation between the landscape and people in the city as well as a space of interaction between nature and the building.

The architect created an inter-embedded space out of the structure and trees, in order that a relatively enclosed space from a confined existing environment to keep off noises around and fit in with surrounding buildings. Meanwhile, there is some difference in the uniformity, demonstrating a sense of extraordinary lightness. The top part of the arc-shaped corridor confines the skyline in a “Protective” form to provide a secure and caring atmosphere. The building and landscape within the space fit each other harmoniously, presenting a pure and simple space. The main display interface of the building comes with a glass spiral staircase built from highly transparent glass to make indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly connected.

“Hongdao” links the second-floor platform and outdoor circulation, and the feature wall of “Hongdao” functions to block out noises in outside area, which fills the backyard with “Zen”. As the foundation of geometric aesthetics, the order is the inherent spirit of classical and modern architecture. The Museum of Art makes the order the soul, gives thoughts on the dialogue between art and the place and provides a special spiritual place for visitors.

In interior design, we draw inspiration from plant growth to make the whole project look “Growing”, just like a small plant breaks through the soil. We highlight an integration of modern architectural style, horizontal extension of axial relationship and best courtyard garden landscape. Meanwhile, we use overall design language for spatial form and bring in proper artistic vivacity and cultural inclusiveness.

Each courtyard in the feature wall has different views as seasons change. The Museum of Art defines the place and art of aesthetic order by a mixed design of the place, modules and details of the building.

수공간을 따라 걸어가며 입장하는 HF 미술관

HF 미술관은 합비(허페이)의 주요 지역에 편리하고 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 도심 속에 위치한다. 건축가는 이러한 고밀도되는 도심 속에 위치하는 것을 고려하고, 자연과 건물 사이의 상호 작용을 일으키는 공간을 설계하고자 했다. 또한, 공간 뿐만 아니라 도시의 풍경과 사람들 사이에서 자연스러운 대화가 오고가는 공간을 만들고자 했다.

HF 미술관은 도시의 환경의 소음을 차단하면서, 주변의 건물들과 어울려야 했다. 그래서 미술관은 다소 밀폐된 공간 구성을 가진다. 구조물과 나무들이 내장된 공간 속에 둘러싸여 있으며, 미술관 자체는 가벼운 느낌의 커튼월로 마감되어 있다. 미술관 중앙 원호형 복도의 상단 부분은 이 곳만의 분위기를 “보호” 형태로 만들어져 있다. 공간 내의 건물과 조경은 순수하고 단순한 매스의 형태 사이에서 조화를 이룬다. 건물의 주요 전시 공간은 유리 나선형 계단으로 실내와 실외 공간을 완벽하게 연결한다.

“홍다오(Hongdao)”라는 이름의 사유의 길은 2층 플랫폼과 실외와의 순환을 연결한다. 이 길을 감싸는 벽은 도심으로 부터 미술관의 영역으로 스며드는 외부의 소음과 차단하고, 현실과의 경계를 짓는다. 이렇게 이어지는 길은 미술관의 뒷마당과 “젠(Zen)”으로 채워진다. 미술관을 이루는 기하학적 형태는 기본적인 미학의 모습으로, 고전과 현대 건축을 한 번에 만날 수 있게 한다. 이렇게 구성된 공간들은 우리들의 영혼을 가다듬고, 예술과 현실 사이에서 자신과의 대화를 생각하게 만든다. 방문객은 수공간과 함께 펼쳐진 길을 통해 HF 미술관 특유의 독특한 공간감을 느낄 수 있다.

미술관의 의미가 “성장”을 의미하는 것 처럼 인테리어에는 작은 식물이 토양을 뚫고 나오는 것 같은 곡선이 사용됐다. 통합된 현대 건축 스타일과 축(수직적) 관계의 수평적으로 확장되며, 잘 조성된 안뜰 정원 풍경을 내부에서도 바라볼 수 있게 고려됐다. 또한, 공간적인 형태와 적절한 예술적 활력과 문화적으로 포용한다. 벽의 각 안뜰은 계절 변화에 따라 다른 볼거리를 가지고 관람객들과 만난다.
